Olivia is the next most popular name with 19,674 babies registered in the U.S. last year, and there are 15 states with Olivia as number one. Next comes Sophia with 18,490 names registered, following Isabella at 16,950 and Ava at 15,586. There are only 6 states with Sophia as number one, and one state, Florida, with Isabella as the number one popular name. There are 3 states with Ava as number one.
For boys, Liam is number one in 16 states but is the second most popular name in the U.S. for 2014, with 18,342 names registered. Next is William which is number one in 12 states, it is only the fifth most popular name in the U.S. for last year and there were 16,687 names registered. Noah is the third most popular name ranked number one in 9 states but is the most popular in the entire U.S. with 19,144 babies registered last year.
Mason comes in as number 1, in 7 states and there were 17,092 registered last year. Jacob is number 1, in 2 states, followed by Henry, Benjamin, Michael, Jacob, and Jackson which were all number 1 in one state.
